Welcome to SWASFT

Performance in initiation and delivery in research

A large proportion of SWASFT research is funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) who have a commitment to transparency and sustained improvement in initiating and delivering research within NHS services. This hopes to increase the opportunities for people to participate in research.

As part of this mission, NHS providers such as SWASFT are required to provide information on recruitment to, and completion of clinical trials that they run or participate in.

We do this via two publicly available reports – one on the studies approved by the Health Research Authority (HRA) in the previous 12 month period (Initiation Report), and a second on the studies which have closed to recruitment of participants within the previous 12 month period (Delivery Report).

Other Research activity not listed in these returns is either ongoing, in set-up or is not part of the NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) Portfolio.
